PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Steelers and Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto are facing off over a parking lot.

Gold Lot 2 has about 200 spaces by the corner of West General Robinson and Chuck Noll Way.

But under an agreement with the Steelers and the Stadium Authority, the team is expected to develop that land by 2021.

The mayor wants them to build residential space and the Post-Gazette reports he accuses the team of purposely delaying in order to keep generating parking revenue during home games.

But the developer selected to build out land next to our stadiums, tells KDKA Radio the Steelers and Pirates are focused on developing Lot 4 first, which will include retail, office space, and condos.
