WASHINGTON (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto joined mayors from around the country Monday in Washington D.C. pushing for gun control legislation.
Peduto joined mayors from cities like Fort Worth, Dayton and Parkland, all places impacted by mass shootings.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors organized the lobbying effort.
More than 275 cities have signed a letter in support of stronger background checks.
The mayors visited the White House and will lobby Senators to vote on stronger background checked already passed by the House of Representatives.
