Arlington Avenue Closed December 20-24

Homestead Grays Bridge Rehabilitation Continues Tonight

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Arlington Avenue near the Liberty Bridge closed on Friday morning and is expected to remain closed until Tuesday, December 24th. 

The City of Pittsburgh Department of Mobility and Infrastructure said Arlington Avenue will be closed to all traffic from Warrington Avenue to McArdle Roadway while crews from the City's Department of Mobility and Infrastructure demolish two vacant homes on Williams Street that were damaged in a landslide. 

Individuals can still access their homes from Warrington Avenue. 

The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure has released the following detour routes:

  • Inbound: Arlington Avenue; Right onto E Warrington Avenue; Left across Saw Mill Run Boulevard toward Downtown; Left into Liberty Tunnel; Right onto PJ McArdle Roadway. 
  • Outbound: Arlington Avenue; Right onto PJ McArdle Roadway; Left into Liberty Tunnel; Right onto Route 19; Right onto W Warrington Avenue. 

Port Authority buses 51L and the 43 will experience detours as well during the construction. 

Crews hired by the Department of Permits, Licences and Inspections will complete the work.
