PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – If you were one of the many that tried, desperately, to get tickets to the megahit musical Hamilton when it was in Pittsburgh, only to be devastated to miss out, don’t you worry.
Hamilton is returning!
Kevin McMahon, the President and CEO of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, discussed Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical's return to Pittsburgh during KDKA Radio’s Leading Pittsburgh event on Tuesday night.
“We’re announcing it, officially…about a year from now,” McMahon said to the audience before following with the joke, “'Is my marketing guy going to be really upset with me?’ But yeah, I think I can say that.”
While it seems like we will have to wait a bit longer to find out when Hamilton will return to the area, we do know what we are asking for next holiday season—Hamilton tickets!
The Broadway production, which is based off of Ron Chernow’s biography Alexander Hamilton, won 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, in 2016.
