
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Port Authority buses and light rail traffic will be detoured around the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel effective immediately.
The Port Authority is asking riders to anticipate delays and schedule extra travel time.
All inbound light rail service will operate on tracks through Allentown. Outbound light rail service will travel on the inbound tracks through the Mt. Washington Transit Tunnel.
Travelers heading outbound from Station Square or the South Hills Junction will be able to board rail cars from the inbound platforms.
Outbound platforms between Station Square to the First Avenue Station will have a rail shuttle.
The Port Authority is currently working with the City of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority.
Riders with questions regarding these detours are asked to call Port Authority Customer Service at 412-442-2000.
