
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The Pennsylvania Resource Council (PRC) has announced the details for the final 3 household chemical collection events of the 2020 campaign.
At the events, residents can safely dispose of a variety of materials.
The events are as followed:
Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.Allegheny CountySouth Park Wave Pool parking lot
Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.Beaver CountyBradys Run Park Recycling Center
Saturday, October 31, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.Allegheny County North Park Wave Pool parking lot
There will be a $20 fee that will cover the cost of disposing up to 10 gallons/50 pounds of the following materials:
Aerosol Cans
Automotive Fluids
Chemical Sets
Gasoline and Kerosene
Household Cleaners
Mercury Thermometers
Paint Products
Pesticide/Garden Chemicals
Photo Chemicals
Pool Chemicals
Participants can also dispose of fire extinguishers for $12 and liquid mercury at $15 per pound.
Oversize loads will be charge by the discretion of the on-site staff.
Due to COVID-19, participants must register online before the event, place all items in their car trunk/truck bed, wear a mask, remain in the vehicle, and bring exact change or checks made out to PRC.
