PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The woman accused of kidnapping and killing 2-year-old Nalani Johnson in 2019 pleaded guilty today.

27-year-old Sharena Nancy of Penn Hills was sentenced to 15 to 30 years in prison as part of a plea deal.

As part of a plea deal, the criminal homicide charge was amended to third degree murder, while three others were withdrawn.

Police say Nancy and Nalani's father were in a relationship at the time of the kidnapping and Nancy took the toddler after an argument with her father.

Nalani was found dead in an Indiana County park three days later.

Family read emotional impact statements in court, including Nalani's grandmother.

"I just don't understand how you could have been so cold and uncaring towards her. I guess those are the things monsters are made of."

Investigators said the argument was about money.

An amber alert was issued following the initial incident in 2019.
