HARRISBURG, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Sports betting is expanding in Pennsylvania. As early as next month you'll be able to make bets from home.

Casinos in Pennsylvania began offering sports betting last fall, but Doug Harbach of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board says, online sports betting isn't far behind.

“We expect that within the next two to three weeks at least one of our operators will be in a position to offer testing for their online sports wagering,” said Harbach.

The question is who will be the first to offer it?

“We’ll make an announcement as will the vendor just before we believe that they’re ready to go live and we’ll let the people know where they can go to set up an account and then test the system by live wagering just as we did with the sports books in the bricks and mortar facilities.”

Betters within Pennsylvania boundaries will be able to wager using the casinos' websites and apps.

Online table games, slots and poker aren't far behind. The Gaming Commission announced a coordinated launch for iGaming for any of the 10 casinos that have licenses the week of July 15.
