Over 40k Calls Poured Into PA's Safe-To-Say-Something Program

AG Josh Shapiro
Office of the Attorney General

HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - More than 40,000 tips poured into Pennsylvania's Safe 2 Say Something program in its first year.

The anonymous reporting tool is operated by the attorney general's office, and allows students and school staff to report any unsafe activities. Nearly 7,000 of those tips were found to be life-endangering.

Attorney General Josh Shapiro said most of the tips the program received were about mental health, not school violence as many had expected.

Bullying, including cyber bullying, drug use and possession, depression and other mental health issues.
