How Pennsylvania verifies voter's signatures on mail-in ballots is being challenged by a federal lawsuit.

According to the Associated press. the lawsuit was filed by the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh as well as individual voters claiming that thousands may be disenfranchised in the coming election because they don't receive enough notice to correct problems with their signatures before their ballots are rejected.

Kathy Boockvar, PA Secretary of the Commonwealth is named as a defendant in the lawsuit. Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Samuel DeMarco III and Bethany Hallam are also defendants in the lawsuit . All three are members of the Allegheny County Board of Elections.

Boockvar told KDKA Radio in June that 1.4 million Pennsylvanians voted via mail-in ballot.

The suit was filed in federal court in Philadelphia on August 7. The Wolf administration has not commented on the lawsuit.
