Peaceful Protest Planned In East Liberty Monday Over Death Of George Floyd

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A peaceful protest over the death of George Floyd is being planned for Monday afternoon near the East. Liberty Target location.

Organizers say the event is planned to begin at 3:30 p.m. at the corner of Centre Avenue and Penn Avenue.

“Many states around the country are participating to make a change for equality and racial justice, not only for George Floyd but for every person of color who has been oppressed,” Organizers said on a social media post.

Protests on Sunday in Pittsburgh were peaceful after a protest that was largely peaceful descended into chaos.

Police announced they are looking for a 20-year-old male, charged with starting the rioting.
