PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Police, along with the fire department and EMS, responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of 17th Street and Liberty Avenue on Thursday.

The accident occurred at around 4 p.m.

When the first responders got to the scene, they found a woman trapped under a vehicle; the victim was alert and was talking to the responders, however.

Rescue 1 medics used airbags to lift up the vehicle and set up blocks to help stabilize it.

After about 10 minutes, the woman was freed from under the vehicle, and she was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the responders.

The police are currently investigating further.
