
HARRISBURG Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania State Health Department has added 680 cases to the statewide total that now sits at 71,415.
There were also an additional 73 deaths, bringing the death toll to 5,537 in the state.
Of the total number of cases in the state, 15,376 come from patients in nursing or personal care homes, and 2,650 from employees in those homes.
3,535 of the state’s total deaths come from nursing homes, as well.
There are 607 nursing and personal care homes in 44 counties across the state that have confirmed with cases of Coronavirus.
Health care workers account of 5,280 of the cases in the state.
The state has also reported that 66% of the total cases have recovered, determined using a calculation, similar to what is being done by several other states.
If a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered.
