PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) — A Pittsburgh man is charged with eliciting minors from across the country to send him nude photos by threatening to kill their families.
The Post-Gazette reports Markell Tariq Smith was charged Tuesday.
Federal investigators say he used numerous Instagram accounts to contact children in Kentucky, New Jersey, Florida and here in Pittsburgh.
The victims say they complied with his demands out of fear.
