PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The City of Pittsburgh Police’s first comfort dog Zane is getting closer to helping the community.
Zane’s duties will “include providing support during critical and traumatic incidents, peer support and community outreach,” police said in a post.
The idea of finding a comfort dog came about after the mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
“He will be out in the community when he's ready to serve after attending obedience school to attain his comfort dog certification.”
You can follow Zane’s training on the police’s Instagram page.
