PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Police responded to a shooting incident at Monroeville Mall Friday night.
One store employee at the mall told KDKA Radio that shortly after 8pm, security and armed police ran by her store and told her to close the gate and get to the back of the store.
The mall was on lockdown and subsequently evacuated.
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the incident began when two groups fought inside the middle of the mall. The fight then moved outside of Macy’s lower entrance, when a handgun was pulled out and gun shots were fired.
There were 10 shots fired toward the store, hitting the glass door.
It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident, according to Police Chief Doug Cole.
No arrests have been made but police are searching security cameras at the mall.
