PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police need the public's help in identifying a man they say struck a bicyclist in the head with a skateboard on Saturday during a protest downtown.

The Damage Assessment and Accountability Task Force is investigating the incident and say the individual hit the cyclist on Penn Avenue. Police also want help identifying the victim. Both photos appear below.

President Donald Trump called the protesters 'thugs' in a tweet. The Pittsburgh Public Safety Department released a statement on the activities, which stated, in part, "Public Safety understand the desire to protest and will continue to respect and protect that right. But the public expects this department to uphold the law and we will follow that mandate."

In a video that has gone viral, protesters are seen confronting diners by yelling walking up to their tables and yelling in their faces. One protester was seen taking a drink from an elderly couple and drinking it before walking away.
