PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Port Authority handed out new, blue ConnectBands Thursday morning to eager riders and they're already out.

The wearable bus passes were passed out as part of a pilot program. Port Authority tells KDKA Radio,

"We're testing 200 externally and internally. Those in the pilot will fill out surveys and depending on their feedback we could make the bands more permanent. However, there will be no additional bands distributed as part of the pilot."

Tweets showed a line of riders waiting for the blue bracelets at the Downtown service center before it even opened.

Users will be able to tap the silicone ConnectBand on a farebox when boarding transit vehicles, similar to a ConnectCard.
