
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A rabid raccoon has been found in Oakdale.
It was found on Spring Street and brought to the Allegheny County Health Department for testing.
It’s the 24th rabid animal reported in the county this year, the 18th raccoon.
Residents should avoid contact with wild animals, and keep pets up-to-date on vaccinations.
If you see strange behavior in an animal, notify animal control. Rabies can be fatal if left untreated, so immediately wash any scratch or bite and seek medical assistance.
