The Ross Township Police Department is mourning the sudden loss of one of their K9 officers.
K9 Jimy died suddenly after emergency surgery Wednesday.
The department asks the public to keep Jimy's handler Justin Allenbaugh in their thoughts and prayers. "Jimy was a great and valuable member of this department and will be sadly missed."
A private memorial ceremony took place Thursday morning for officer Jimy and a processional route took place on Babcock Boulevard to his final resting place on Cemetery Lane.
K9 Jimy served Ross Township for three years.
