ALTOONA, Pa. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Sheetz convenience stores are offering free meals for children in the area during the coronavirus outbreak.
The Kidz Meal Bagz will be available beginning Thursday, April 2 and it will include a turkey sandwich, potato chips and a drink.
Meals will be available at roughly 300 locations.
Families that want a free meal should ask an employee at the register to receive the meal.
“The spread of COVID-19 and subsequent school closures has left many children across the communities we serve without a reliable food source,” said Travis Sheetz, President & COO of Sheetz, Inc. “It is our hope Sheetz’s Kidz Meal Bagz program will make a small difference and provide nourishment to those in need during these uncertain times.”
Program will last for an initial time of two weeks and will be reevaluated after.
The meals will be available on a daily basis while supplies last.
