ALTOONA, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Sheetz convince stores have been known for years for its innovative Beer Caves and now they are getting into the craft beer game.
In partnership with Mifflinburg, PA-based Rusty Rail Brewing Company, Sheetz is releasing "Project Coffee Hopz".
The IPA is brewed with Sheetz-Brothers Sumatra coffee beans and "features light and floral taste notes with a subtle coffee presence."
On May 16 at the Bethel Park location on Library road, customers will have the first opportunity to try and buy the "limited-edition" beer.
Four packs of "Project Coffee Hopz" 16oz cans will be available at 55 Sheetz locations across Pennsylvania beginning May 21, including the following local ones:
- 4599 Library Road in Bethel Park
- 2401 Washington Rd in Canonsburg
- 9002 University Blvd in Moon Township
- 1002 California Avenue in Natrona Heights
- 211 Mt. Nebo Road in Pittsburgh
- 2615 Nicholson Road in Sewickley
The beer retails for $7.99. Sheetz adds the beer is a small batch brew and will not be restocked once it is sold out.
