PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Another animal has tested positive for rabies in Allegheny County.
This time, a dead raccoon was found near the 600 block of Beatty Road in Monroeville has tested positive for rabies according to the Allegheny County Health Department.
County residents are reminded to always avoid stray and wild animals to avoid exposure and also keep a close eye on your pets.
This is the sixth rabid animal reported in Allegheny County this year; four raccoons, one bat and one cat.
If you see an animal that appears to be acting strange or threatening, contact police, local animal control or the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
