HARRISBURG, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement conducted nearly 1,200 COVID-19 compliance checks of Pennsylvania businesses with a liquor license over the weekend.

The checks resulted in 39 warnings and 10 notices of violation. The checks were made from August 7 to August 10.

None of the violation notices were issued to establishments in the Pittsburgh region, but 10 did receive warnings from the bureau.

Restaurants and bars with liquor licenses must follow these rules, among others, to remain in compliance:

  • Require all customers to wear masks while entering, exiting or otherwise traveling throughout the restaurant or retail food service business (face masks may be removed while seated). Further, employees are required to wear masks at all times.
  • Provide at least six feet between parties at tables or physical barriers between customers where booths are arranged back to back.
  • Ensure maximum occupancy limits for indoor and outdoor areas are posted and enforced.

Since July in the Pittsburgh region, 125 warnings have been issued and just two notices of violation were issued.
