
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A stray cat discovered in Ross Township has tested positive for rabies.
The animal was reported on Hetherton Drive in Ross.
This brings the total of rabid animals in Allegheny County discovered in 2020 to 11. That includes five raccoons, three bats, two cats and one groundhog.
Anyone who is bit by an unknown animal should clean the bite quickly with soap and water and seek medical treatment immediately.
The Allegheny County Health Department reminds people to keep an eye out for animals acting unusual.
If you spot and animal acting strange, you are asked to call the police, PA Game Commission or local animal control.
