PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has canceled all events through June 14 and the biggest of those events is included.

The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival will not be held this year.

It had been schedule for June 5-14.

The festival draws artists from all over the country and attracts an estimated half a million people downtown.

The Trust is planning for some virtual space for art and music.

“In the current pandemic we must first protect the health and safety of our guests, staff, volunteers, and artists,” the Trust said in a statement.

The EQT Children’s Theater Festival is also canceled.

“Please know that the Cultural Trust does not take a single cancellation, postponement, or closure lightly, as we recognize the effect that each and every event has on our region, our artists, and you, our supporters and fellow arts lovers. Our website will have the most updated information on events affected by COVID-19. We will be in touch soon with those who have purchased tickets to these events,” the Trust added.
