PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Governor Wolf may be beginning his second term as Governor of Pennsylvania, but the lieutenant governor’s office will have a new occupant.
Former Mayor of Braddock John Fetterman was sworn in around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning and spoke shortly before Wolf’s noon inauguration.“I am proud and grateful to stand beside Governor Wolf a man who has always served with the utmost integrity, dignity and honor,” said Fetterman.
Fetterman also spoke to the man he defeated in November, Republican nominee for Lt. Gov. Jeff Bartos, who was in attendance.
“I selected Jeff last to thank because I want to communicate the spirit of bipartisanship that I hope to approach to this job.”
Fetterman was also dressed in a black suit, which is out of the ordinary for the man known for his short sleeve shirts. His clothing choice didn’t go unnoticed by the governor.
”Don’t you think the necktie looks pretty good on John?” Wolf asked to laugher.
On a more serious note, Wolf asked Pennsylvanians at the end of his second inaugural address to get involved.
“I ask you to choice hope over hopelessness, empathy over apathy, I ask you to choice action over passivity.”
Wolf also took time to tout the accomplishments of his first term telling the audience, “We’ve gone from a commonwealth at a crossroads to a commonwealth on a comeback.”
