PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Tree of Life congregants are looking to bring beauty back to their Squirrel hill Synagogue.

Since the October shooting there that left 11 dead, chain link and blue tarps line Wilkins Avenue by the building still damaged beyond use.

Board member Laurie Zittrain Eisenberg tells KDKA Radio, members will install art along the fence.

"It just looks so forlorn and so dismal and we thought that our neighbors that showed us so much love really deserve something better."

The "Hearts Together" campaign is seeking submissions from young people around the world to print on windscreens that will cover the fence between the Synagogue and Wilkins Avenue.

"We're looking to thank our neighbors, our first responders and really to lift the spirit of anyone who is looking for signs that we're okay and we're coming back," said Zittrain.
