PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Two more lawsuits alleging a cover up of abuse in the Pittsburgh Catholic Diocese have been filed in Common Pleas Court.
Attorney George Kontos represents two clients, one who says he was abused by father Thomas O'Donnell, and the other by father Raymond Rhoden.
O'Donnell is deceased. Rhoden's whereabouts are unknown.
Kontos says the suit names the diocese, former Bishop Wuerl and current Bishop Zubik as defendants.
“There was a system in place to move these priests around, to assuage concerns the parents that may have been brought up.and to sweep all of this under the rug,” said Kontos.
Kontos adds one of the victims was assaulted by a Father Thomas O'Donnell who took him to Super Bowl X in Miami.
“While he was there he was forced to sleep with father O’Donnell, share the same room and was repeatedly sodomized.”
Both priests were named in the state grand jury report.
