PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - U.S. Steel owes Clairton residents $2 million dollars, and will spend another $6.5 million to upgrade equipment at its Clairton Coke Works.
The settlement was reached last week in a lawsuit against U.S. Steel that alleged the company's negligence and resulting pollution interfered with residents' quality of life.
More than 5,600 households can file claims as part of the suit.
