NEW LONDON, Conn. (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — The USS Pittsburgh returned from its final deployment Tuesday.
The nuclear-powered, fast-attack submarine spent its final days in the European Command Area focused on security operations.
It was commissioned in November of 1985 and is the fourth U.S. Navy ship to be named for the Steel City.
The USS Pittsburgh was decorated in black and gold when it returned to its homeport at Naval Submarine Base New London in Connecticut.
