PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Public Works crews have removed graffiti from the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial on the North Shore.

The statue of the officer was spray-painted with the word “deceit”.

The graffiti was reported around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday evening.

Police are viewing available video footage.

Earlier this week, red paint and Communist symbols removed from the World War I Memorial in Lawrenceville.

Authorities are working to determine if the two incidents are related.
