PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - For over 30 years, WQED’s Rick Sebak has made many programs about Pittsburgh, but “Kennywood Memories” is the one most go to when they have to pick a favorite.

The 1988 release has the perfect mix of history, nostalgia and unique characters you can only find in Pittsburgh.

Since it’s been over 30 years, Sebak decided he would take a look at the over 40 hours of footage that didn’t make it into the original “Kennywood Memories” and would create a “new” program.

The result is “That Kennywood Summer”, the latest in the crowd-funded “Nebby” series.

Sebak tells KDKA Radio the new program that debuted Thursday has gotten more buzz online than any other program he can remember in recent years.

If you are a fan of the original “Kennywood Memories” this is a great companion piece to the original. If you’ve never seen the 1988 classic, don’t worry, “That Kennywood Summer” also stands on its own!
