PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Threats of a shooting at a local football game have been deemed unfounded at this time.
There were reports that the threat of a shooting at the West Mifflin football game Friday was made on social media.
Police say “There appears to have been a miscommunication relative to recent events in other districts and precautions needed in our own.”
Police are still planning a presence when Franklin Regional visits West Mifflin
Authorites still encourage anyone who hear, see or read anything suspicious to contact them at 412-461-3125 or 911.
There will also be extra police at the Jeanette game after one person was killed there last Friday outside the Jeanette, Imani Christian game.
