PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) A woman who was accidentally shot and paralyzed at the age of 14 has died close to 15 years after shooting.
Tionna Highsmith, 29, was found dead in her apartment on Monday and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner is yet to determine if the cause of death is related to the shooting.
Highsmith was attending a church carnival in the Brighten Heights neighborhood when she was shot as an unintended target in a drive by shooting.
The bullet remained lodged in her back ,leaving her partially paralyzed.
The shooting that took place nearly 15 years ago has gone unsolved.
