YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh Announces Reopening Plans

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Your local YMCA may be reopening soon following the coronavirus shutdown.

YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh has announced plans to begin to reopen facilities and summer day camps in two phases starting on Friday, June 12.

Pittsburgh area facilities include:

Baierl Family YMCA (Wexford)Sampson Family YMCA (Plum)Spencer Family YMCA (Bethel Park)Thelma Lovette YMCA (Hill District)

The reopenings will take place in phases. During the first phase, the following services and programs will not be available:

  • Guest or Nationwide Membership
  • Child Watch
  • Locker Rooms
  • Group Fitness
  • Adult and Youth Sports
  • Open Gym
  • Swim Lessons
  • Swim Team
  • Sauna and Steam Rooms
  • Playgrounds

Operational hours will be as follows during the first phase:

  • Monday – Thursday: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: CLOSED 

Senior Hours

  • Monday – Friday: Noon – 2 p.m.

Summer days camps scheduled to reopen include:

  • Sampson Family YMCA (Plum)
  • Camp Olympus at Setters Cabin Park
  • Baierl Family YMCA (Wexford)
  • Camp Cloverleaf at South Park
  • Avonworth Community Park (Bellevue)
  • Homewood-Brushton YMCA (Homewood)
  • Allegheny YMCA (North Side)
