Look….we've all dreamed of having our own country. Breaking away and being free from everything. However, that fantasy usually ended when mom yelled, 'Dinnertime!'
The Capital Hill Autonomous Zone in downtown Seattle does not stand a chance!
If this was a group of religious whackos, the Feds would send in Janet Reno and burn the place down. If this was a bunch of alt-right folks - a sniper would have taken out the son and dog already and we'd call it Ruby Ridge.
But, this is the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone. It must be tolerated and placated.
'CHAZ' is a spoiled child that was never told 'No.' Now, 'CHAZ' has thrown a temper-tantrum by squatting in the middle of a major American city.
Before we quickly disregard or discourage such behavior - let's be positive, nurturing, and supportive parents.
The 6-block kingdom does have a few things going for it. Ironically, it has border security. Yes, walls & barriers surround the compound. Its governing body has thrown out organized police, yet, has a quasi-security force that deports those deemed undesirable (like a pro-life guy.)
CHAZ apparently has a tax plan. This weekend the unelected leader demanded that each white person within the fiefdom give $10 to a random black resident.
The fledgling territory has a ball field that could be utilized for agriculture and wind turbines. CHAZ could also turn the tops of buildings into rooftop gardens, chicken coops, and solar farms. Tilapia could be farmed in basement aquariums. However, do these rebels really want to work that hard to feed & fuel the revolt?
Unfortunately, for these 'colonists,' CHAZ currently has no industry of its own. The Occupied Territory relies on Seattle for all essential services. Therefore it has NO FUTURE. One cannot be independent when someone else is paying all the freight. Do not expect to see ambassadors from CHAZ sitting on the UN Human Rights Council any time soon.
In fact, it seems that there is already trouble in paradise. Some protesters are now seeking an identity change because they really do not wish to secede from their sugar daddy. This faction now wants to be called 'CHOP' or Capital Hill Organized Protest.
All the Feds have to do to quell this type of insurrection; circle the property with a half-decent, concert security staff. Such an elite force would refuse entry or exit to anyone or anything. CHAZ would then be on its way to becoming an asterisks in the history book of Social Justice once the weed and Doritos run out.
