The Pennsylvania Resources Council is offering online webinars for southwest Pennsylvania that revolves around conservation.
The webinars will not only conduct digital presentations but will also make compost bins and rain barrels available in an effort to promote the prevention of extraneous water usage and unnecessary food waste.
There are three different webinars that are being performed through the month of July.
Preregistration is required for all of the webinars.
The first digital seminar is for backyard composting and costs $70.
The course fee not only includes the information but also an 82-gallon compost bin.
The class hopes to teach the process and maintenance methods for composting and how to use the finished compost product.
The third and final webinar is a free session that teaches Recycling & Waste Reduction.
The class will talk about general recycling questions and practices, navigating curbside collection, disposing of pharmaceuticals, and how to recycle the more difficult materials.
“Individuals taking part in the Backyard Composting and Watershed Awareness/Rain Barrel webinars will receive the tools of the trade, specifically composting bins and rain barrels, following the webinars, so at this time we’re conducting these webinars for individuals living in southwestern Pennsylvania so that they can drive to a bin/barrel pick-up site soon after completing the webinars,” Martin continued.
Registration is open for the webinars on the Pennsylvania Resources Council website.
