A Hollywood star and her husband, former Pirates player Cole Tucker are expecting.
Vanessa Hudgens revealed on the Oscars’ red-carpet Sunday that she is pregnant.
The former Pirates infielder/outfielder and “High School Musical” star married in December 2023 and have been dating since late 2020.
“[Cole] treats her better than any guy she has been with. They are in a really good place,” an insider told Us Weekly. “With marriage and a baby, she is ready for the next phase of life.”
Hudgens has been a big supporter of Tucker on the field, attending games at the Major League level and in the minors.
Taken by the Pirates in the first round of the 2014 draft, Tucker struggled to stay in Pittsburgh batting .211 his first year with the club in 2019, playing in 56 games.
He began the shortened 2020 season in the outfield and batted .220 in 37 games. In 2021, Tucker batted .222 in 43 games and in only 18 games last season Tucker hit .175 before he was designated for assignment at the end of May.
Tucker is currently a on the Colorado Rockies Triple-A minor league team, the Albuquerque Isotopes.
The 27-year-old Tucker has had eight at bats this spring in Rockies camp. He has one hit.
Hudgens turned 35 this past December.
