Throughout Black History Month, the City of Pittsburgh celebrates the spirit and heroism of the Vashon family, which settled in Pittsburgh in 1829. A month-long display at the City-County Building and online content explores the enduring legacy of these inspiring abolitionists and activists whose impact continues to motivate contemporary movements for justice and equality. This celebration showcases one of the most important families in the City of Pittsburgh during the building of our nation.
Happening now through the end of February at the City-Council Building on Grant Street.
