SHANKSVILLE, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A service at Shanksville, Somerset County Wednesday morning at the national memorial to Flight 93 that went down as crew members battled terrorists 18 years ago.
Vice President Mike Pence led the service, which included a reading of the names of all 40 people who died on flight 93.
Pence said we pay a debt of honor to the memory and the family of the 40 “heroic Americans.”
Among those attending this morning’s 18th anniversary service were reverend Paul Britton and Gordon Felt from family of Flight 93 along with Mitchel Zuckoff who authored, “Fall and Rise: The Story of 9/11”.
The names of the 40 victims were read at 10:03 a.m., the moment United Airlines Flight 93 crashed.
