PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It is national love your pet day, but there are still countless pets out there looking for their forever home.

Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh in Homestead is working to make sure some of them find a family they can spend their life with.


Animal Lifeline has plenty of wonderful dogs that need a new home. Take a look at them above and check their website if you are interested in adopting/fostering a dog.

Lynda with Animal Lifeline tells KDKA Radio they average around 250 adoptions every year.

Animal Lifeline Pittsburgh also many other programs to keep pets safe and healthy.

They have a Ride To Rescue program that helps save pets in overcrowded or underfunded shelters by transporting pets to shelters and homes where they can thrive.

The non-profit also operates a Rescue Bank and Community Pet Food Bank by providing nearly 80,000 lbs. of food each month to rescues and homes around the area that work on low budgets.  

They also have an Animal Lifeline Thrift store on East 8th Avenue in Homestead that sells household goods and clothes.

100 percent of the profit goes to their animal welfare programs.
