Pittsburgh Police's First Comfort Dog Celebrates 1st Birthday

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh Police’s first comfort dog Zane is celebrated his first birthday in style Thursday.
Officers in Zone 4 threw a birthday “pawty” for the 1-year-old Zane complete with a dog friendly cake from Three Dog Bakery.
Zane also received a new toy from Sgt. Kearns.
The idea of having a comfort dog came after the mass shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in October 2018.
Zane offers “peer support, critical incidents and community outreach.”
The name Zane is Hebrew for “gift and prayed for.”
Happy Birthday Zane!
