PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) As summer of 2021 nears and people begin to get back to a normal world, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf for the third year in a row that May 23 will be “1-4-3 Day” across the state.

With the declaration of this day, Wolf is inviting all Pennsylvanians to show more kindness and gratitude towards one another, all weekend from May 21-23.

The day is made in honor of Pittsburgh native Fred Rogers who used 1-4-3 as a way of saying “I love you” as he spread joy and happiness to millions across the world.

“A little kindness goes a long way—especially this year—so I’m asking Pennsylvanians to participate in kind acts during this three-day weekend to celebrate 1-4-3 Day in honor of native son Fred Rogers,” said Gov. Wolf. “The world learned from Rogers about the impact simple acts of kindness can have on family, friends, and neighbors alike, a lesson that will stand the test of time.”

The PA state website has opened up a kindness generator that give ideas for good deeds or fun activities for you and your loved ones to spread joy.

A kindness tracker will keep tally of good deeds and kind gestures performed by Pennsylvanians throughout the weekend.

PA residents are also urged to use the #143DayInPA hashtag to continue spreading joy and love with everyone.
