PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) Monroeville Police, on Friday night, responded to a call for a shooting incident in the 100 block of the Cambridge Square Apartments.
When police arrived they found a 3-year-old female with a single gunshot wound, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit was called to help with the investigation.
Investigators discovered evidence that the 5-year-old sibling accidently shot the victim while handling an unsecured weapon.
The firearm was owned by a parent who is cooperating with the investigation.
Detectives are continuing the investigate the situation.
