As part of the daily COVID-19 update from the Pennsylvania State Health Department, they have stated that over 6.2 million vaccines have been administered.
6.2 million vaccines equal 36% of the state's population and ranks 20th among the 50 states for first dose vaccinations.
According to the CDC, Pennsylvania ranks the 36% of the population number ranks 20th, but the total number of vaccines administered sits higher at 6th in the nation.
The numbers stand at 6,233,317 total doses administered; 4,127,397 single/first doses and 2,105,920 second doses.
Along with the vaccine update, the Health Department also added 4,882 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,068,974 cases.
An additional 40 deaths were confirmed due to COVID-19 bringing the death toll in Pennsylvania to 25,402.
Despite less harsh mitigation efforts being enforced throughout the state, mask wearing and social distancing is still required, even for those fully vaccinated.
