7 warnings, 2 notice of violations given to local businesses after weekend compliance checks

HARRISBURG (Newsradio 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) – Pennsylvania State Police Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE) Officers held 407 compliance checks to licensed liquor businesses across the state over the weekend, including 77 checks in the Pittsburgh area.

Of the 77 local checks, 7 businesses were issued warnings, and 2 was issued notice of violation.

According to a press release, a notice of violation is "the issuance of an administrative citation, which is civil in nature, and is intended to provide licensed liquor establishments notification of the nature of violation(s) discovered."

After being issued a notice, the investigation remains open, pending a review by the BLCE.

Businesses with continued violations put their liquor licenses at risk, according to a press release.

Compliance checks are unannounced and can occur anywhere in Pennsylvania.
