Sheetz giving employees a pay increase, 12 weeks maternity leave

Partners will get 2-weeks paid leave

Western Pennsylvania convenience chain Sheetz announced on Wednesday morning that a "majority" of this 18,000 employees will be getting a paid raise.

The Altoona-based company also announced that new mothers will get 12 weeks of maternity leave with full pay and their partners will get two weeks.


The increase goes into effect on February 12 and it's not known how high pay increase will be raised.

"Our employees are the heart and soul of this company," said Travis Sheetz, President/COO of Sheetz in a release sent to KDKA Radio. "Sheetz is committed to investing in our people and attracting and retaining top talent. We know in order to do this, we need to exceed expectations by providing competitive wages, industry-leading benefits, career development opportunities and much more."

It's the third employee investment Sheetz has made in the past five years, with $15 million in pay increases in 2016 and $16.8 million in 2019.

Sheetz, known for its Made to Order (M-T-O) order operates 600 stores throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia and North Carolina.
