Thousands of bees killed in deliberate fire at local honey farm

A honey farm based in Hickory, Washington County has been devastated after a deliberate fire was set on Thursday.

The Bedillion Honey Farm in Hickory says boxes were se on fire at its bee yard in industry, Beaver County.

“Tens of thousands of honey bees turned to ash, along with the boxes and pallets they were once housed in,” the honey farm wrote on Facebook.

Bedillion says they plan to rebuild but the fire is a “significant loss of animal life” and a blow to its business.

A police report has been filed and anyone with any information is asked to call or text Mark Bedillion at 724-747-4645.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that helps lead to the arrest and conviction of whoever is behind the act.
