
A 14-year-old was placed in custody after reports of multiple stolen vehicles.
Pittsburgh Police say they took a report on Monday of a stolen vehicle from a mechanic on the 2200 block of Noblestown Road near Green Tree.
The owner of the vehicle dropped it off early in the morning for inspection and when he returned to pick it up in the afternoon, it was gone.
After looking at video footage from the area, Police were able to identify a suspect. They say he was responsible for similar thefts at that location.
Detectives found the suspect sleeping inside the stolen vehicle that was in the 1400 block of Poplar Street.
It was parked next to another stolen vehicle.
Police say the 14-year-old was on juvenile probation and he as placed into custody. He later confessed to stealing both vehicles found on Poplar Street.
He is currently at a juvenile detention facility.
